I think more than ever, we need to be kind to each other. With all the isolation, it's so important that we try to lift each other up. These kind words from Unity Stamp Company's "Moments of Bliss" stamp set are a perfect way to send some love to friend afar.
For this card, I finally got to use a fun new die and stencil! First, I cut some Bristol Smooth paper at 9" x 4" (I was using 9" x 12" Bristol Smooth paper) and got three pieces from each sheet. Next, I used the new (and super popular) "Cloud Edger" stencil by A Colorful Life Designs. Now, I used this in the most basic way, but here's a great video by Chris Dayton that shows how she uses hers! Once I inked up the clouds, I used the new Kraftgali Stitched Scalloped Slimline die to trim the cloud background. Love this die because it added a lot of detail and has several layers.
Next... let's start stamping! I put these background into my Misti. {And if you haven't heard, there's a new Misti. If I may recommend, get your new Misti from My Favorite Things for free shipping and a free gift!} I line up my sentiment, and it's a long one, but it fits perfectly on this slimline card. Once done with that, I cut a few strips of alcohol marker friendly paper and stamped the butterflies. I colored each of them using Stampin' Up Blends. I love copics, but the Stampin' Up Blends really have some beautiful colors and they also give an almost watercolored look when blending. These colors were, Calypso Coral & Daffodil Delight. I used my brother Scan n' Cut to cut these images out (but you can also get the Unity Digital Cut File for your Cricut or Silhouette).
Final steps, I trimmed the card base to 8.5" x 7" and scored it on the short side at 3.5". I adhered the cloudy background using Score-Tape. I used Scrapbook Adhesive Thin 3D Foam Squares to adhere the butterflies. Once on the card front, I added Ranger Diamond Stickles to the yellow parts of each butterflies for some extra bling. This card is simple, but has lots of details.
