Heart of Christmas

Happy Friday, Unies! I hope you're all enjoying the BIGGEST sales of the year at Unity's shop and there is lots to love! Today, I've got something old and something new for you:

  • {Old} October 2020 Sentiment Kit: Heart of Christmas Stamp Set

  • {New} Heart of Christmas Coordinating Dies

We've been seeing a lot of this combo set, but I wanted to try it with some more masculine colors because once in a while we might send a card to a dude... and not all dudes appreciate how much we love pinks and glitter, so let's try something different.

I started this card by stamping the snowflake heart with GKD White Pigment Ink and heat embossing it with white embossing powder. (Hint: By using a white pigment base, the white embossing powder looks even brighter!) Next, I started to shade the edges of the page toward the. heart...lightest to darkest. To add some texture, I used a wrinkled baby wipe and dabbed it on the colored area. This lifts the ink a little and adds to that velvety look.

For the Sentiment, I stamped the MERRY in that same GKD White Pigment Ink and heat embossed white embossing powder. I stamped the Christmas on vellum and die cut it. It got a little lost on the paper, so I die cut plain white card stock three times and adhered them to each other. I tucked the MERRY under the Christmas.

For a little extra boldness, I did something very non-traditional and die cut black snowflakes. The dark black just adds a pop to the soft background colors. And with flat clear sequins, this all comes together. Last, I layered this on vellum, then some Luxury Black Licorice Card Stock before adhering it to a white short-cut card base. This is just another great example of this amazing combination of stamps and dies.

Thank you so much for stopping by and I hope you've found some inspiration! Stay tuned for all the fun sales and video lives happening this month!

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Jules
