Hive Got Your Back {Bee-hind Bars}

Sometimes your friends help you make good decisions. And sometimes they help you hide the evidence.

Today's card featuring the new Hive Got Your Back stamp set celebrates those ride-or-die friendships—the ones that stick with you through thick, thin, and the occasional questionable life choice.

These bees may have found themselves behind bars, but don't worry. Nobody's singing like a canary. This hive operates on a strict "buzziness before witnesses" policy.

When I saw the sentiment, "Hive Got Your Back," I immediately imagined a group of loyal bee buddies willing to take their chances together. Whether they're guilty of stealing pollen, excessive buzzing after hours, or simply being too cute for the neighborhood, they're standing united. No bee gets left behind.

To bring this little bee lineup to life, I created a custom jail-cell background with my Cricut. The bold black bars set the scene while allowing these adorable bees to take center stage. I used Unity's Scallop & Rectangles Dies and Terrific Ticket Dies to frame the sentiment and add a little extra dimension to the card design.

The bees themselves were colored with Copic Markers, bringing plenty of bright yellow bee-tude to the scene. A touch of Distress Ink helped soften the background and create just enough texture without taking away from the main attraction.

What I love most about this card is how each bee has its own personality. There's always one friend who got everyone into trouble, one who's pretending they have no idea what's happening, and one who's already planning the next adventure. Yet somehow they're all in it together. And isn't that what friendship is all about?
