Pissed on Your Behalf

There are some stamps that make you smile… and then there are stamps that make you say, “Yep. That’s exactly how I feel!”  The newest addition to the Pissy Kitty family from Unity Stamp Company is here, and this little guy is Pissed on Your Behalf!

For this card, I wanted to give our grumpy kitty a little more meaning by creating a card for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. October is a great reminder that while we may love our pink ribbons, the most important thing we can do is take care of ourselves and encourage the women we love to do the same. And make sure to check out all of Unity's cancer support stamps! CLICK HERE to see them all.

💕 A Little Pissed… A Lot of Love

I paired our grumpy kitty with a heart-shaped element and the sentiment:

“All my love. All my fury. All for you.”

Because sometimes when someone we love is going through something difficult, we don't know exactly what to say. Sometimes the best thing we can do is simply let them know:

I'm here. I'm angry with you. I'm fighting beside you. And you've got me.

And honestly, who better to deliver that message than a seriously annoyed kitty? 😾💗

I kept the card soft and feminine with lots of pink, but let Kitty's grumpy little face do what he does best—steal the show!

✂️ Supplies Used

Here's a quick look at what I used to create this card:

I love how the pink background gives the card a pretty, cheerful feel while our Pissy Kitty brings just the right amount of attitude.

Because let's face it… sometimes you need a little sass with your sympathy!

🎀 A Little Reminder From Me to You

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, but taking care of ourselves shouldn't be limited to one month of the year. Please keep up with your recommended mammograms and breast-health screenings. And just as importantly, check in on the women in your life. Remind your sister, daughter, mom, friend, coworker—or yourself—to make that appointment.

Early detection can make a tremendous difference, and sometimes a simple reminder from a friend is exactly what someone needs to finally schedule that appointment. And if someone you love is facing breast cancer, support her. Listen. Show up. Send the text. Make the phone call. Sit beside her. You don't need to have the perfect words. You just need to let her know she isn't walking through it alone.

💗 A Story Close to My Heart

I also want to share a little bit about someone very special to me, my dear friend Jenn Belford.

Jenn is one of those people who reminds me why awareness and regular screenings matter so much. Through her annual mammograms, her breast cancer was detected early enough to be treated. Her story is such an important reminder not to put off those screenings.

Jenn took her experience and turned it into something incredibly meaningful. She collaborated with Chrisie Canny and several other women to create Lifted, By My Girls, a book bringing together the stories and experiences of women who have faced breast cancer.

The book's website describes it as 20 women, 20 journeys, and one mission—sharing stories so that women facing breast cancer know they aren't alone.

I love the message behind this project: we lift each other up.

That's really what this card is about, too.

A little bit of pink. A little bit of attitude. A whole lot of love.

And maybe one grumpy kitty reminding you to schedule that mammogram. 💕😾🎀

Take care of yourself. Support your girls. And never underestimate the power of showing up for someone you love.
