Make Your Day Crabby! 🦀 (... in a good way)

It's Wednesday, but don't be crabby! Here's another preview of one of the new stamp sets sailing its way in to the new release on June 1st!  "Ahoy Matey" is a super cute stamp set with so many great stamps to enjoy.  I used the adorable crab and made a fun patterned background.

Although, it would be totally cute to color each of these crabs in, I kept them plain and distressed the edges with a little Distress Ink in Hickory Smoke.  I matted the stamped background on a grey layer of card stock and adhered that to a red card base.

Next, I stamped the adorable crab using Copic friendly ink on Copic friendly card stock.  I didn't clean my stamp well, so you'll see the red ink, but I'll show you a little trick with this... just don't remove your stamps from your stamping tool (I'm using a mini-Misti)

Using Copics R27, R08 and R05, I colored in the crab. Before fussy cutting him out, I put him back into my Misty (exactly where I had it when I first stamped him). Now, to make these lines as bold as can be, I used VersaFine Clair in Nocturne to re-stamp the image giving it the boldest black. VersaFine Clair is not Copic friendly, but you can add it after you've colored an image.

Once the VersaFine Clair has dried, I fussy cut the image out.  Next, I die cut a circle in the same grey card stock using a MFT - Wonky Circle. Die.  I used the Misti again to line up the sentiments and stamp them using VersaFine Clair on the grey circle.

The last steps are the best.  The grey circle card stock can be added to the other layers.  And the final step is to use a mini action wobbler behind the crab and then adhere it to the grey circle on the card.  This little crab is now fun to play with!

Doesn't this crabby card put a smile on your face? Thank so much for following and I hope you found some fun ideas that you can use!
