My Husband Takes Over My YouTube Video!

Happy Friday, Crafty Friends! Today, my blog is still the same, but the tutorial... well, it's me, but not me. My husband took over my latest video tutorial and boy did we both laugh. Enjoy the blog, and I hope you enjoy the video. Make sure to let him know if you'd like more of his voiceovers on future videos.

This is Julissa of Paper Gems by Jules on the blog ready to kick off your weekend with a fun new way to use the Dashes & Frills Hearts Die set to create a sky full of love. So let's take flight!

I started by die cutting a heart using the Dashes & Frills Hearts dies and taking that heart at angles to create clouds. I used Saltwater Taffy Distress ink to create these clouds. Once done, I splattered the background using the same ink with a little bit of water. This helps add dimension and hides any imperfections in your blending.

Next, I stamp the sweet hot air balloon and clouds from the Sending Up Something Beautiful stamp set with a Copic friendly ink by My Favorite Things Extreme Black Hybrid ink. I colored the images using similar colors to the Saltwater Taffy color used in the background.

Copic Colors: R14, R22, R21, C0, C2, C4, C6, 0

Once done coloring, fussy cut the images out. I like to leave a little white border as if it was die cut. Using Scrapbook Adhesives Black Foam Squares, I adhere the images on the background and stamp the sentiment. I layered it using the largest die from the Scallops & Rectangles Nesting dies and finalized it on a white A2 sized card base. For a little extra, I used a Nuvo Shimmer Aqua pen to add to all the hearts and banners.
