Happy Friday! Today is all about making a scene... a spooky scene with some super simple techniques. The star of this blog is the newly released Witch Way stamp set that has THREE (ah-ah-ah... in Count Dracula's voice) spooky little gnomes. I mean, even if you're not into gnomes, these are pretty darn cute!
The background to this card is actually super easy. to make and you can pretty much put any one of these three gnomes in front... or another fun Halloween image. You can even just make it a night scene, but whatever you do... don't over think it.
Start with navy card stock. Using black in (like Black Soot Distress Ink), shade the edges to give it a lighter point in the middle. This creates a glow around the moon. To make the moon, die cut a simple circle using white card stock. Using a light yellow ink (like Scattered Straw Distress Ink), shade the outer edge of the circle. This instantly becomes a glowing moon. You can also do this with a very light grey card stock. Last, die cut the grass using a green card stock. Add a shadow and light by darkening the lower part of the grass using a dark green or black ink (like Forest Moss Distress Ink). Before putting all the pieces together, create a starry background using white paint (like Picket Fence Distress Spray Stain).
Now this little cutie just had to have an even cuter costume. The coloring was just shades of purple, but but adding a white and black stripes to his hat, he instantly has some style with plaid. Don't forget you can add more interest with fun patterns on clothes.
Make sure to add this treat to your Halloween trick-or-treat bag and any of the amazing newly released stamps or some from the MEGA sale going on!
Until next time...
Happy crafting!
