Celebrations of Light: A Holiday Stamp Set That Shines Bright
The holiday season is all about celebrating light, love, hope, and the traditions that bring us together! ✨ And what better way to spread a little extra joy than with handmade cards that honor the many beautiful ways people celebrate this time of year?
Today, I’m sharing four festive cards featuring the new Celebrations of Light stamp set. This wonderful collection includes images and sentiments inspired by Diwali, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, and the Winter Solstice, making it a thoughtful addition to your holiday crafting stash.
I love that these stamps give us an opportunity to celebrate traditions beyond the usual Christmas cards. Whether you're creating cards for friends and family who observe these holidays or simply want to send a message of warmth and goodwill, this set offers so many possibilities!
Four Cards, Four Beautiful Celebrations

🪔 Happy Diwali — A Little Sparkle and a Lot of Joy
Diwali, the Festival of Lights, is celebrated by Hindus, Jains, Sikhs, and some Buddhists, with traditions and meanings that vary among communities. Light is a beautiful symbol of hope, goodness, and new beginnings.
For this card, I went bold with vibrant red, shimmering gold, and a beautifully detailed mandala background. The diya image takes center stage on a white tag, accented with a bright red bow for an extra festive touch. The gold details add just the right amount of sparkle! And I paired it with the beautiful Layered Mandala Background stamp.
This design reminds me that a handmade card doesn't have to be complicated to make a statement. A striking background, a beautifully colored image, and a few embellishments can create something truly special.
🕎 Happy Hanukkah — Let Your Light Shine

Hanukkah celebrates the rededication of the Second Temple in Jerusalem and commemorates the miracle of the oil in Jewish tradition. The menorah, its lights, and the traditions of gathering with loved ones make this holiday especially meaningful.
For this card, I paired the menorah image with rich navy blue and gold. The intricate background adds an elegant, almost lace-like effect, while the clean white focal panel allows the sentiment and colorful candles to shine. For the background, I used the Tuscan Tile Background stamp.
I love how the gold and blue combination creates a classic holiday look without needing lots of extra embellishments. It's a lovely reminder that even a simple card can carry a meaningful message of hope and light.
🖤❤️💚 Happy Kwanzaa — Celebrating Community and Culture

Kwanzaa is a cultural celebration honoring African heritage, community, family, and the Nguzo Saba, or Seven Principles. Its seven candles represent the principles celebrated throughout the week.
For this design, I used bold red, green, and black ink with the Wonky Stripes Background stamp to complement the kinara image. The colorful candles echo the traditional Kwanzaa palette, while the layered cardstock and contrasting background give the card a festive, modern feel.
This is such a fun example of how color can do much of the work in a card design. The stripes create movement and energy, while the central image keeps everything cohesive. It's bright, cheerful, and ready to send a little encouragement to someone special!
🕯️ Blessed Solstice — Welcoming the Light

The Winter Solstice marks the shortest day and longest night of the year in the Northern Hemisphere. For many people and spiritual traditions, it is a time to reflect, celebrate nature, and welcome the gradual return of longer days.
For this card, I chose a black background filled with golden stars from the Luminous Background stamp and paired it with the beautiful log-and-candles image. The gold accents give the design a warm, magical glow, while the white focal panel keeps the sentiment easy to read.
I especially love how this card captures the peaceful side of the holiday season. It would be lovely to send to someone who celebrates the solstice or simply appreciates the changing seasons and the promise of brighter days ahead.
One Stamp Set, So Many Creative Possibilities!
One of my favorite things about card making is discovering how many different looks I can create with the same stamp set. Celebrations of Light is perfect for experimenting with color, layering, and embellishments.
Here are a few ideas to try:
Change the color palette. Experiment with metallics, jewel tones, traditional holiday colors, or soft winter shades.
Color the images your way. Use Copic markers, colored pencils, watercolor, or whatever medium you love.
Create clean and simple cards. Stamp an image, add a sentiment, and let the artwork speak for itself.
Add sparkle. Glitter cardstock, metallic embossing powder, gems, and shimmer sprays can make these designs extra festive.
Try different layouts. Use a tag, a framed focal panel, a circle, or a window to highlight your stamped image.
Make multiples. Once you find a favorite layout, change the background and colors to create a coordinated set of holiday cards.
Let's Talk Background Stamps!
Here's another detail I love about these cards: each one features a different background stamp from Unity Stamp Company! Background stamps are such a great way to add interest without having to build every layer from scratch. They can be subtle and elegant or bold and dramatic, depending on the design and colors you choose. The intricate gold pattern on the Diwali card, the detailed navy-and-gold design on the Hanukkah card, the colorful stripes on the Kwanzaa card, and the starry night sky on the Winter Solstice card each create a completely different mood. And the best part? They all work beautifully with the Celebrations of Light images.
This is one of the reasons I enjoy crafting with Unity stamps so much. Their images, sentiments, and backgrounds are easy to mix and match, giving us endless opportunities to create cards that feel coordinated without looking identical. You can pair a focal image from one set with a background from another and create something that feels entirely your own.
If you already have a stash of Unity background stamps, pull them out and experiment! You might be surprised by the combinations you discover.

Spreading Light, One Card at a Time
What I love most about this collection is the opportunity to create cards that recognize and celebrate the traditions that make our communities so special. Diwali, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, and the Winter Solstice each have their own history and meaning, yet these designs all share a beautiful theme: light, hope, and the warmth we can bring into one another's lives.
