Let's Play with a Platypus

There’s something about cute critters and colorful ink blending that instantly makes a card more fun — and this new Platypus stamp set by C.C. Designs totally delivered the smiles!

For this playful card, I created a bubbly background using a blend of Distress Oxide inks and the fabulous Suds Stream stencil. The soft gradient of green, blue, and purple gave me the perfect whimsical “water play” vibe for these adorable little platypus friends.

I started by blending:

• Cracked Pistachio Distress Oxide

• Blueprint Sketch Distress Oxide

• Wilted Violet Distress Oxide

Once the ink blending was complete, I layered the Suds Stream stencil over the panel and added soft white details using a white gel pen to enhance the bubbly look. The result is a bright, cheerful background that perfectly complements these delightfully weird little platypuses!

After coloring and fussy cutting the images, I popped them up with foam adhesive for extra dimension and paired everything with the sentiment: “You make life delightfully weird”

Honestly… perfection for these quirky cuties!
