No Better Words

Hello my Unity friends. Today I’m sharing a card I made using the new December Sentiment Kit of 2020: “…No Better Words.” This week our family celebrated the life of one of the matriarchs who passed away a year ago. And as hard as that was, we are thankful she did not have to suffer this difficult time as she was the biggest hugger and loved to bring our families together. Today, I’m sharing this card made in her honor.

This new stamp set is incredibly beautiful. It truly allows you to build a scene. I opted to create a tranquil moment. To start, I used four Distress Oxide colors: Gathered Twine, Tumbled Glass, Chipped Sapphire and Black Soot. Next I stamped the trees on both ends of the paper allowing it to create a landscape. Now, the circle in this stamp set can be a sun or a moon. Using Hero Arts Unicorn white pigment ink the night sky was lit up by adding this moon. Also included are subtle clouds which I stamped in Momento London Fog ink. Last, I stamped the sentiment, “In fond remembrance.”

To add a little more detail, I used a white gel pen to highlight parts of the trees to give the illusion of snowfall. This detail just adds more dimension to this calm image. Once everything was dry, I layered the die cut image on black card stock, then onto a plaid card stock, another black piece of card stock and then a white card base.

I considered ribbon or maybe Stickles, but it was meant to be subtle and calm. These trees are so classic and I love that the can be used solo or layered. They can be day time, night time and truly, any season. This is definitely a kit to add to your stash.

Thank you so much for following along and I hope you found some inspiration. Take a moment to tell someone you love them today.

Until next time… happy crafting.

Jules
