Starting the New Year with Intention

There’s something about the start of a new year that naturally invites reflection. Instead of rushing headfirst into resolutions and packed calendars, I wanted my first card of the year to set a different tone—one rooted in slowing down.

The “No Rush Now” stamp from the January 2026 Kit of the Month felt like the perfect image to kick things off. This quiet little scene speaks volumes without saying too much, and honestly, that’s the energy I want to carry into the year ahead.

My intention for 2026 is to be more mindful about how I spend my time—especially with my husband. We work together, tackle projects together, and keep the household moving… but it’s so easy to get lost in the hustle and bustle of daily life. This card is a gentle reminder of the goal: fewer rushed moments, more shared stillness, and space to simply enjoy being together.

Card Design Details
To keep that peaceful, unhurried feeling front and center, I leaned into soft colors, subtle layers, and simple textures. Nothing here is loud or overpowering—the design intentionally lets the image breathe. The result is a card that feels calm, cozy, and reflective, much like the sentiment behind it.
