Torn Pages

There’s something timeless about a card that celebrates books, quiet moments, and getting lost in a good story. This card was inspired by the idea that life’s best moments begin when you turn the page — whether that page belongs to a favorite book, a new chapter in life, or even your craft table.
For this project, I leaned into soft florals, vintage book text, and a sweet illustrated reader to create a layered card that feels cozy, thoughtful, and full of heart. It’s perfect for birthdays, encouragement, graduations, or just-because happy mail.

To make this card, I paired a couple of Unity's beautiful patterned papers. I die cut them both, but tore the floral piece and used Scorched Timber Distress ink on the torn edge to give it a burned paper look. Adhering the smaller, torn piece onto the print paper, this is the background.

Next, I colored the cute girl. I used the colors of the magnolias to inspire the floral colors and opted for a bright and colorful outfit for the young, eager reader. If you didn't use the Digital Cut File for this image, you can fussy cut her out using precision scissors. I also stamped the sentiment and used the Scallop & Sentiment Dies to die cut it out.

With a few brads, some Stickles and think foam tape, this card is almost done. Before putting it all together, I added a layer of brown paper behind the patterned paper for a little framing on the light green card base.
