Float Into Summer Fun

If summer had an official mascot, I think this cool little goose would win by a landslide! 😎 Between the sunglasses, tropical drink, and floatie, this card is basically a vacation in an A2 envelope.

For today's card, I challenged myself to use every single product included in the July Whit Kit: Cool Goose Summer from Unity Stamp Company—and I had so much fun pulling everything together into one sunny scene!

The star of the show is, of course, our relaxed goose enjoying the perfect pool day. I colored him with Copic markers and perched him on a sparkling pool created with the gorgeous water-patterned paper from the kit. To add a little extra interest, I layered several pieces of the coordinating ephemera to create a fun beach sign that draws your eye across the card.

One of my favorite little details is the shoreline! While it may not be obvious at first glance, I actually used the Shoreline Borders Stencil in a unique way. Instead of blending ink through it, I traced the edge of the stencil onto the water patterned paper and carefully tore along the line to create a realistic, organic shoreline between the sand and water. It's an easy technique that adds wonderful texture and movement without any extra fuss.

The tiny sunglasses embellishment was simply made for this goose (because let's be honest…he knows he's fabulous), and I scattered a few shimmering sea stars around the design to complete the beachy vibe.

This card makes me want to grab a lounge chair, sip something fruity, and forget about my to-do list for a while. If only life were always this goose-y!
