The Perfect Christmas Background

Happy Friday, Unies! This is Julissa of Paper Gems by Jules and we're continuing the celebration of Brown Thursday deals! Today's post is combining some of my most favorite holiday stamps from Unity... so let's prance right in!

Let's start with the new Christmas Songbook Background stamp. This beautiful script print is just soft and subtle for any background. You can stamp it full, or you can ink up sections to create a distressed look. For this first card, I stamped it using black ink on ivory paper.

Next, I pulled out the Colossal Snowflake stamp and stamped it with VersaMark and embossed it with Classic Gold embossing powder. This adds a layer, without bulk... and all that detail is just so beautiful over the script. Don't forget, it comes with a die to match.

For the final layers, I stamped the beautiful deer from the Cheerful Prancing stamp set using Pinecone VersaFine Clair Ink and embossed it with Crystal Clear embossing powder. I fussy cut this, but if you're not a fan of fussy cutting or want an easy way out, check out the Digital Cut File that works with most cutting machines like a Cricut or Silhouette machine. For the sentiment, I pulled it from the Heart of Christmas Stamp & Die Bundle... which is full of great holiday sentiments. Adding a bow and some sequins...and we're done with this one.

Let's keep prancing...

Using the other solid reindeer from the Cheerful Prancing Sentiment Kit in the same way, I added some new elements and some of the same from the previous card. First, I. stamped the lovely Christmas Songbook background using VersaFine Clair in Pinecone.

For the background, I paired my favorite trees from the Northwoods Peace stamp set using Fresh Asparagus ink. Using the Mountain Scapes Stencil, I added some brown mountains using the Warm Cocoa Ink. Just like that, we've got a winter scene.

But my FAVORITE part of this card is the yarn scarf on this reindeer. And it's so easy, just wrap it around the neck and tuck the end behind the deer. before adhering it to the front using some foam squares. In addition to the sentiment, some gold sequins bring it all together. Don't you love to pair the old with the new?! So check out the new stamps and see how it can give some of your old stamps a new look for your next holiday card.
